NEW BUSINESS <br /> Item removed from the Consent Calendar. <br /> 6.G. Resolution Amending Section 1, Classes, Categories, and Salaries of the Pay <br /> Plan (amends the Pay Plan to implement the consolidation plan associated <br /> with clerical/administrative staff support for the Mayor's/City Manager's <br /> Office) . <br /> There was a motion by Council Member Kerr, seconded by Council Member <br /> Loeffler, to table this matter until it could be further discussed in <br /> Closed Session and then rescheduled. The motion failed, with Council <br /> Members Galvan, Myers, Perry, and Polvorosa voting no. <br /> Council Member Kerr said his concern regarding the City Manager's Office <br /> reorganization had to do with the Mayor's Secretary. He said he felt the <br /> Mayor should have her own secretary, under her jurisdiction, and should not <br /> need to go through the City Manager for clerical service. He said he was <br /> concerned with the proposal to take the Secretary away from the Mayor, and <br /> he would like to revisit this matter so that the Mayor would have her own <br /> confidential secretary. <br />
