(1926) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Myers, and carried by a majority vote (7) , the City <br /> Council approved the Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding with <br /> the San Leandro City Employees' Association regarding the 1994-1995 <br /> Furlough Program. <br /> C. Minute Order No. 94-55, Matter of Ratification of Addendum to San <br /> Leandro Management Organization's Memorandum of Understanding Related <br /> to 1994-95 Furlough Program (amends current Memorandum of Understanding <br /> to provide for Furlough Program, December 23, 1994 through January 2, <br /> 1995) . (2134) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Loeffler, and carried by a majority vote (7) , the <br /> City Council approved the Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding <br /> with the San Leandro City Management Organization regarding the 1994- <br /> 1995 Furlough Program. <br /> D. Matter of Consolidation of City Boards and Commissions. <br /> Mayor Corbett said the City Council Subcommittee has been working on <br /> this for a number of months. They held a meeting with the Board of <br /> Zoning Adjustments and the Planning Commission. She read the <br /> recommendations from the Subcommittee. <br /> Council Member Myers noted that term limits are not recommended. <br /> Council Member Kerr congratulated the Subcommittee on keeping Boards <br /> and Commissions intact and providing continuity of government. He said <br /> he was concerned that so many terms will expire in 1994 and suggested <br /> that those commissioners whose terms expire in 1995, 1996, and 1997 <br /> should continue in their positions until their terms expire and then be <br /> reappointed at that time. He noted the various term expirations on <br /> each Board and Commission. <br /> Mayor Corbett explained that individual Council Members nominate <br /> members, and the full City Council votes on the nomination. She said <br /> the individual Council Members could re-nominate members if they wished <br /> to do so. She suggested the Council follow the recommendation of the <br /> Subcommittee to bring the process back to a standard approach. <br />
