Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 2, 1992 Page - 3 - <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued) <br /> Council Member Santos suggested the Chamber contact the schools <br /> directly to see what they can do to ensure that no educational <br /> opportunities are lost to our children. He said he felt the Chamber <br /> had a responsibility in this area. <br /> Ms. Samaniego said all the other citizens of the community, as well as <br /> the Chamber, have a responsibility. <br /> Mayor Karp noted that Ms. Samaniego participates in the Partnership for <br /> Education Program. He also pointed out that Ken Rawlings, Otis <br /> Spunkmeyer, is exceptional in assisting the schools throughout the area <br /> in funding. He said industry in San Leandro has taken a great role in <br /> supporting education. <br /> E. Charlie Coffin, 545 Blossom Way, Representing the San Leandro <br /> Manufacturers' Association, spoke in support of the repeal of Ordinance <br /> No. 92-02 and said he looked forward to working with the City and the <br /> City Council in any way possible to solve the City's financial <br /> problems. He said he also looked forward to the discussion regarding <br /> the Blue Ribbon Finance Committee. <br /> 6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> A. The minutes of the meeting of February 18, 1992 were removed from the <br /> Consent Calendar to New Business. <br /> B. RESOLUTION NO. 92-45 (2679) <br /> RESOLUTION INITIALLY ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR <br /> COMMUNITY LIBRARY PUBLIC RESTROOM REFURBISHMENT AND <br /> CASA PERALTA MUSEUM PREPARATION <br /> PROJECT NOS. 91-8682 AND 91-8689 <br /> Introduced by Council Member Santos, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Glaze, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> • <br />
