ORDINANCE NO. 92-010 (1022) <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO <br /> VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC CONTROL <br /> TITLE VI, CHAPTER 1 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> RIGHT TURN ON RED <br /> SAN LEANDRO BOULEVARD <br /> Introduced by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved that it be passed to print, <br /> seconded by Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 7. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. An Ordinance Adopting the Proposed San Leandro Zoning Code, Dated April <br /> 16, 1992, Repealing the Existing San Leandro Zoning Code, Adopted May <br /> 22, 1961, and Any Amendments Thereto, and Postponing the Operative Date <br /> of This Ordinance. Removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. <br /> Mr. Rosenga asked that the City Clerk read the title and Sections 1, 2, <br /> and 3 of the Ordinance to clarify for the audience that the new Zoning <br /> Code would not be operative until the Zoning Maps are adopted. <br /> Council Member Kerr suggested that the City Council put off its vote <br /> until the Zoning Maps are complete. <br /> Chief Assistant City Attorney Mike Riback said all the changes made at <br /> the February Planning Commission Meeting had been incorporated into the <br /> text of the Zoning Code. He said it is important to have the text of <br /> the Code in place before the maps are completed because the body of the <br /> document is used by the Planning Commission and the City Council in <br /> their review of the various districts in the community. He said the <br /> Code is used as the standard for establishment of new Zoning Districts. <br /> Council Member Corbett asked what would happen to applications for re- <br /> zoning made prior to the operative date of the Zoning Code. Mr. Riback <br /> said the existing Zoning Code remains operative until such time as the <br /> Maps are approved and in place. He said any applications submitted <br /> between now and then would be approved in accordance with the existing <br />
