(2647/1024) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved that it be passed to <br /> print, seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following <br /> called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, <br /> Polvorosa; Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers said he has been contacted by a couple of <br /> homeowners associations who are concerned regarding liability <br /> insurance. Most of the associations cannot afford any homeowners' <br /> liability and do not carry insurance. He would like to see the City <br /> become co-insurers with qualified homeowners' associations, to enable <br /> them to use school facilities. <br /> Mike Oliver said he will have the Risk Manager, Jim O'Leary, take a <br /> look at the concept of insurance and see if there is a possible way to <br /> assist. <br /> B. Council Member Myers said he received complaints of speeding on Neptune <br /> Drive and would like the City to post speed-limit signs. <br /> C. Council Member Corbett questioned the procedure of distributing <br /> materials to the City Council . She said the EIR for the Bayfair <br /> Expansion had only been delivered in July, when the draft had been <br /> completed in March. She would like to see these materials delivered as <br /> soon as possible for 'Council to have adequate time .to-review them. <br /> . .Mike Oliver will ask 'staff to =distribute ..these types of materials to <br /> the Council when they're sent for Commission review. <br /> D. Council Member Kerr concurred with Council Member Myers' comments about <br /> homeowners associations and would also like the City to look into <br /> helping them with liability insurance. <br /> E. Council Member Kerr commented that he is very happy that staff are <br /> working with the Ashland area association. He feels this will be an <br /> asset to them and us. <br /> F. Council Member Kerr said he received a complaint regarding the fence at <br /> the end of Lewelling Boulevard. He feels there should be as much <br /> publicity as possible to inform the community as to why the fence will <br /> be up and asked how long the fence would be up. <br /> • <br />
