MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 8, 1992 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Commendation to the Washington Manor Team No. 1 of the Washington Manor <br /> Junior Baseball League 9- and 10-Year-Old Ty Cobb Division. Mayor Karp <br /> presented the gold-framed commendation to the team coaches. Council <br /> Member Kerr introduced the coaches and team members. He said he is <br /> very proud of the Washington Manor Junior League and to see these <br /> players represent the League at the State and National levels. <br /> B. Morgan Rice, 663 Valita Drive, Representing Friends of the Library, <br /> said the group has grown from 31 members in 1984 to more than 300 <br /> members , with accumulated contributions exceeding $50,000. He <br /> presented a check for $3,000 toward the Summer Reading Program. He <br /> also presented a letter to the City Council , signed by more than 700 <br /> people, thanking the City Council for its support of the Library and <br /> Library programs and requesting continued support. <br /> Mayor Karp noted that more than 1,000 people attended the Reading <br /> Program Carnival and thanked the volunteers, the Library Historical <br /> Commission, and Dave Bohne and staff for its great success. <br />
