Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - October 19, 1992 Page - 3 -
PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued)
Connie Cwymer, reviewed the Minutes from the last City Council Meeting
and said that, in those Minutes, Council Member Corbett said the signs
saying not to feed the squirrels had been up for some time, but Ms.
Cwymer said, according to Lt. Bischoff, the only sign that had been
placed at the park was installed 6 weeks prior to the poisoning. She
said Council Member Corbett was noted as saying she never noticed the
sign; therefore, Ms. Cwymer feels a larger sign is needed in the
future. She said In Defense of Animals has documents from Lt. Bischoff
to Kathy Ornelas saying the County recommended, as of September 7th,
that the program be postponed until June of next year for a variety of
reasons. She said Lt. Bischoff had also suggested giving In Defense of
Animals nine months to show good faith and perhaps come up with
alternatives. She asked if the City Manager had taken this document
and the recommendations from the County into consideration.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A.
