Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - July 15, 1991 Page - 19 - NEW BUSINESS (continued) Mr. Taylor explained that the City would receive a percentage of any revenue generated by Scott/Newest Company, Inc. He said the exact percentage, still to be negotiated, would be dependent upon gross receipts of Scott/Newest. Mayor Karp said the whole matter would come back before the City Council with details. Council Member Corbett questioned the term of the Lease and asked if it was subject to negotiation. She said she felt twenty years was too long. She also asked what control the City would have over the number of trucks going to the site. Mr. Taylor said the City would have the right to determine users and other details. Council Member Santos noted that he had to abstain on this matter because Scott/Newest Company, Inc. , is a client of the company by which he is employed. The following Resolution was then introduced: RESOLUTION NO. 91-149 (2323) RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH SCOTT COMPANIES, INC./NEWEST, INC. Introduced by Council Member Faria who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Perry and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Karp ( 6 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) ABSTAIN: Council Member Santos ( 1 ) S. MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-63 (2557) MATTER OF COMMUNITY PRESERVATION ORDINANCE On motion by Council Member Santos who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Corbett and carried by the following called vote, the City Council approved the proposed Community Preservation Ordinance in concept and directed staff to begin the public review process using the time schedule and process described in the staff report dated July 18, 1991 .
