Council Member Perry said she had attended the Alameda County Child <br /> Care Block Grant Meeting. She said $1 million will be given to Alameda <br /> County through CDBG funds for priority child care. She said she was <br /> surprised at the number of at-risk children in San Leandro. She said <br /> there will be a Public Hearing on August 3 to refine the priorities. <br /> C. Council Member Perry noted that she has been appointed by the League <br /> of California Cities to a task force on telecommunications and will <br /> keep the City Council informed. <br /> D. Council Member Perry noted there will be a health care meeting at the <br /> Community Library on July 16 and said it was important to show community <br /> support. <br /> E. Council Member Corbett said she was alarmed at the comments in the <br /> Roberts Landing EIR which said that child care at school sites would <br /> be eliminated. She suggested that this matter be discussed with the <br /> School District through the School District Liaison Committee. <br /> F. Mayor Karp said he had been selected to serve on a nation-wide task <br /> force with other Mayors and that he would head up transportation for <br /> the U. S. Conference for Mayors. <br /> 10.
