NEW BUSINESS
A. Resolution Designating Removal of Stop Signs, Intersections, Leonard
Drive at Johnson Street, Title VI, Chapter 1 of the San Leandro
Municipal Code. Removed from Consent Calendar to New Business.
The City Council asked for an explanation on this matter. Bill Silva,
City Engineer, said that, as a result of a request and studies of this
intersection three years ago a stop sign and yield sign had been
installed. He said the City recently received a request asking for a
re-evaluation. He said under today's circumstances, traffic patterns
at the intersection have changed, and it has become apparent that the
stop sign and yield sign are no longer needed. He said this is probably
caused in part by changes on Davis Street that have affected the area.
The City Council approved the Resolution but requested that staff report
back on this matter in six months to determine if any changes occur as
a result of removing the stop sign and yield sign.
RESOLUTION NO. 91-218 (1022)
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING REMOVAL OF STOP SIGNS, INTERSECTIONS
LEONARD DRIVE AT JOHNSON STREET
TITLE VI, CHAPTER 1 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE
Introduced by Council Member Santos who moved its adoption, seconded by Council
Member Polvorosa and carried by the following called vote:
AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos;
Mayor Karp ( 7 )
NOES: None ( 0 )
ABSENT: None ( 0 )
