Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - FEBRUARY 20, 1990 Page - 13 - <br /> Alice Calvert, City Clerk, noted that a page was missing from the Resolution in <br /> the City Council 's Agenda establishing election precincts and handed out the <br /> missing page and requested a re-vote. On motion of Council Member Perry, <br /> seconded by Council Member Santos, with Council Member Glaze voting no, the <br /> Resolution was approved as amended. <br /> MISCELLANEOUS: <br /> a. Council Member Santos made the following comments: <br /> - He noted there were weeds on the Maltester/Polvorosa Overpass. <br /> - He noted Cable TV had no emergency phone number to call on weekends. <br /> - He noted the two letters which had been distributed to the City Council <br /> requesting that O'Donnell Park be developed and said he hopes to see this <br /> going soon. <br /> - He requested the meeting be adjourned in memory of Ernest Hohener. <br /> - He noted an article by Mark Stein, recommending expanding the Alameda <br /> County Board of Supervisors from five to seven members. <br /> b. Council Member Jardin made the following comments: <br /> - He noted 84 trees have been planted on Mitchell and Dowling Streets and <br /> commended the residents. <br /> - He noted that parking at the corner of Pontiac and Suffolk Streets is <br /> limited to two hours and new property owners are having problems with <br /> citations. He requested staff review the restricted parking in this area <br /> and determine if it is still needed. <br /> - He noted the many programs being conducted at the Tony Lema Golf Course <br /> to enhance business, such as golf equipment and long-ball hitting <br /> demonstrations, and commended Steve Elbe, the golf course pro. <br /> c. Council Member Perry made the following comments: <br /> - She discussed the Earth Day Committee recommendations and said the trees <br /> on Mitchell Avenue are included in the Earth Day Celebration. <br /> - She discussed the 4th Grade Book Club at the Community Library. <br /> - She noted that February is Teen Suicide Month and said speakers are <br /> available for interested groups. <br /> d. Whitey Harter, 91 Broadmoor Blvd. , spoke, stating that he is a long-time <br /> resident of San Leandro and noted a number of previous activities on his <br /> street, including tree plantings and hanging of the American flags.
