Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 16, 1990 Page - 4 -
RESOLUTIONS (continued) :
Resolution Approving the Standards for Design and Construction of Ground-Mounted
TV Cable Facilities: Council Member Perry questioned Condition 9, which provided
for removal of obsolete equipment either after a determination is made that the
appurtenances have become obsolete or 12 years from the date the appurtenances
were installed. Mike Riback, Chief Assistant City Attorney, said the 12-year
period was the amount of time United Cable needed to amortize their capital
equipment. The City Council also asked questions regarding the large boxes being
used in other cities, one box for every eighteen homes, and asked if they would
be used in San Leandro.
Thomas Lacy, District Manager for United Cable TV, and Jerry Maughan,
representing the City of San Leandro, said those kinds of boxes most likely would
not be used in San Leandro. The City Council also asked when the questionnaire
would be distributed to the Washington Square Homeowners.
On motion of Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Santos, the
following Resolution was introduced, with Item 9.2. "12 years from the date the
appurtenances were installed," deleted from the Standards.
RESOLUTION NO. 90-51 (1375)
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE STANDARDS FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
OF GROUND-MOUNTED T.V.
