Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 4, 1990 Page - 5 - <br /> MISCELLANEOUS (continued): <br /> p. On motion of Council Member Santos, seconded by Council Member Glaze and <br /> carried unanimously, Diana Prola was nominated to the Human Resources <br /> Commission (District 6) . <br /> q. Matter of Library Relandscaping. On motion of Council Member Corbett, <br /> seconded by Council Member Perry and carried unanimously, the City Council <br /> approved the interview selection process approach to developing a Community <br /> Library Center Landscaping, Parking and Master Plan Study, and approved the <br /> establishment of an advisory committee (including representatives of the <br /> Library Historical Commission, Friends of the Library, and community) to <br /> work with the Library Historical Commission, public, City Council and staff <br /> on development of the project. <br /> r. Matter of Alameda County Waste Management Authority. On motion of Council <br /> Member Faria, seconded by Council Member Santos, with Council Member Perry <br /> abstaining, Council Member Corbett was appointed to serve as Alternate on <br /> this committee. <br /> s. Council Member Santos asked questions regarding United Cable TV's proposed <br /> change in basic service. Mark Adcock, Assistant to the City Manager, said <br /> the change removes four channels from basic service to allow United to pass <br /> on possible increased production costs to subscribers. Steve Meyers, City <br /> Attorney, said the City cannot regulate programming and rates, and United <br /> Cable has given all notice required by law in its franchise agreement. <br /> Mayor Karp noted that the re-regulation markup bill is going to the Senate <br /> and he would send a letter. Council Member Santos requested that it be from <br /> the entire City Council . <br /> t. Council Member Glaze congratulated Council Member Corbett on her recent <br /> marriage. <br /> u. Council Member Perry asked that a low-cost family event be considered for <br /> inclusion in next year's Cherry Festival . <br /> v. Mayor Karp noted the large turnout for the Shoreline Run and congratulated <br /> the staff and volunteers.
