He said <br /> he had removed windows from the long side of his home during construction. <br /> He discussed the tunnel effect in his side yard and noted that the fence was <br /> unstained and there were stains on the block wall on which it was mounted <br /> and the wall was not grouted. He said he did not see any compelling reason <br /> for such a tall fence and he favored the Board of Zoning Adjustments <br /> conditions. <br /> Mr. Anderson again stated that the fence provides his property with privacy <br /> and without it Mr. Emanuele can look into his bedroom windows. <br /> There being no comments from the public, on motion of Council Member Santos, <br /> seconded by Council Member Perry and carried unanimously, the Public Hearing <br /> was closed. <br /> On motion of Council Member Faria, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, with <br /> I-_- Council Member Glaze voting no, the Appeal was denied and the recommendation <br /> of the Board of Zoning Adjustments was upheld. <br /> MISCELLANEOUS <br /> a. Matter of City of San Leandro Participation in the Alameda County Economic <br /> Development Program. <br /> - Staff Report <br /> On motion of Council Member Santos, seconded by Council Member Corbett, with <br /> Council Members Glaze and Perry voting no, the City Council accepted the <br /> staff report, approved the City's participation in the program, and directed <br /> the City Attorney to negotiate with the County on an agreement for City <br /> A Council approval . <br /> Bruce Kern, Alameda County, thanked the City for agreeing to participate in <br /> the program. <br /> On motion of Council Member Santos, seconded by Council Member Glaze and <br /> carried unanimously, the City Council nominated Ellen Corbett as the City's <br /> representative to the Economic Development Committee for possible appointment <br /> by the Board of Supervisors. <br /> b. Matter of Reestablishment of City Council Cherry Festival Committee. <br /> On motion of Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Faria and <br /> carried unanimously, the City Council Cherry Festival Committee was <br /> reestablished with former members Karp, Faria and Glaze. <br /> c. Council Member Santos noted interesting information available to the public <br /> was located in the lobby of City Hall . <br />
