File Number: <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />BY: <br />City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 18, 2014 <br />Resolution - Council <br />14-042 <br />City Council <br />Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />Lianne Marshall <br />Assistant City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Consulting Services <br />Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs for State Legislative Advocacy <br />Services (provides for a one-year contract in an amount not to exceed <br />$60,000) <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro ("City") distributed a Request for Proposal for the <br />recruitment of a state level advocate; and <br />WHEREAS, Townsend Public Affairs submitted a proposal to the City to provide <br />strategic state -level advocacy and consulting services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an agreement with Townsend Public Affairs <br />based upon its distinct subject matter expertise, as well as specific knowledge and skills that <br />were obtained through experience providing similar services to other public agencies in <br />Alameda County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a Consulting Services Agreement <br />with Townsend Public Affairs in an amount not to exceed $60,000, for state -level advocacy <br />services. <br />2.
