These funds will be <br />periodically distributed by Alameda CTC for projects <br />and programs that: <br />• Provide bicycle education and training <br />• Increase the number of trips made by bicycle and <br />on foot <br />• Improve coordination between jurisdictions <br />• Maintain existing trails <br />• Implement major elements of the Alameda <br />County Bicycle Master Plan and Pedestrian <br />Master Plan <br />• Implement bicycle and pedestrian elements of <br />Community Based Transportation Plans <br />• Support Safe Routes to Schools <br />• Support school crossing guards <br />• Provide bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure <br />within and connecting to developments in <br />priority development areas <br />• Leverage other sources of funding <br />Funds in this category will be used for a Countywide <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator position. <br />
