• <br /> Subsection H. Layoff <br /> 1. No Layoff Provision - The City MOU specifies that there will be no layoffs as a result <br /> of the consolidation between the Department and City. The County MOU, in a side letter of <br /> agreement dated May 5, 1994, contains a similar provision. <br /> 2. Layoff Procedure - The layoff procedure for Fire Employees shall be in accordance <br /> with Appendix "C" of the County MOU, and the Alameda County Civil Service Rules. For <br /> Fire Employee's all City service will be credited for seniority determination for layoff <br /> purposes. <br /> 3. Seniority List - City has prepared a seniority list using the definition of seniority above, <br /> which is attached as Appendix "B." In the event of a tie in seniority for layoff purposes <br /> between a Fire Employee and an employee of the ACFD (who is not a Fire Employee), the <br /> tie shall be broken according to the criteria established by the Alameda County Personnel <br /> Rules as specified in Appendix "A" of the County MOU. <br /> Subsection I. Health and Welfare <br /> 1. Medical Insurance - Active Employees - Effective the first day of the month following <br /> the effective date, all Fire Employees and eligible dependents shall be enrolled in the ACFD <br /> PERS medical plan, subject to the PERS rules and regulations regarding enrollment in effect <br /> at such time. The ACFD shall contribute toward the cost of the premium at the rates specified <br /> in the County MOU or the County MOU - Management as appropriate. <br /> 2. Dental Insurance - Active Employees - Effective the first day of the month following <br /> the effective date, all Fire Employees and eligible dependents shall be enrolled in the ACFD <br /> dental plan, subject to the rules and regulations regarding enrollment in effect at such time. <br /> Department shall contribute toward the cost of the premium at the rates specified in the <br /> County MOU or County MOU - Management <br /> 3. Vision Care - Active Employees - Effective the first day of the month following the <br /> effective date, all Fire Employees meeting the requirements specified in the County MOU or <br /> County MOU - Management, shall be reimbursed for the cost of either lenses and frames or <br /> contact lenses specifically prescribed for the employee only, up to a maximum of $100.00 in <br /> a twenty-four month period. <br /> 4. Retiree Medical and Dental Insurance -Fire Employees who retired before the effective <br /> date, shall continue to be enrolled in the City of San Leandro's medical and dental plan under <br /> the terms and conditions contained in the City MOU, subject to the provisions below: <br /> (a) In the event the medical or dental premiums increase for Fire Employees who retired <br /> before the effective date, City's contribution toward the premium for retired fire employee <br /> 5 <br />
