City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 21, 2014 <br />Ordinance <br />Agenda Section:File Number:14-293 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.C. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:City Council <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City of San Leandro Rescinding in Its <br />Entirety San Leandro Municipal Code Chapter 2-19 upon the Approval by a <br />Majority Vote of the Eligible Voters Within the City of San Leandro of the <br />Ballot Measure (Measure ___) on the November 4, 2014 Ballot Establishing a <br />Temporary Transactions and Use Tax Within the City of San Leandro <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of San Leandro to place <br />before the eligible voters of the City a measure (Measure ___) to extend at the one half of one <br />percent rate (0.5%) a temporary transactions and use tax upon the City’s November 4, 2014 <br />election ballot; and <br />WHEREAS, if the measure passes by a majority vote of the eligible voters of the City, <br />then Measure ___, as a measure of the people of the City of San Leandro, shall immediately <br />go into effect; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the enactment of Measure ____ by ordinance, Chapter 2-19 of <br />the San Leandro Municipal Code, and all of its provisions should, by the action taken hereto, <br />be rescinded in its entirety; and <br />WHEREAS, if Measure ___ on the November 4, 2014 ballot is not passed by a majority <br />vote of the eligible voters of the City, then it is the City Council’s stated intent that the existing <br />ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ordain as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. The Recitals above are true and correct, and made a part hereof. <br />Section 2.
