From: Kevin Zhang <kezhuang.berkeley@gmail.com>
Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2014 12:01 PM
To: Penaranda, Elmer
Subject: Re: Heron Bay Residential Neighborhood
Hi Elmer,
Thanks for letting me know. I would like to share some thoughts and comments on the new installation of gate at Heron Bay. As a
resident within the Heron Bay Community, I do not think the new gate will add value to our community. Logistically, who's going to
control the gate? If no one is actually controlling, then any car could open and pass the gate anyway. So what's the purpose of the
gate? If there's a person controlling the gate, why not just let the person direct and monitor the inflow and outflow the vehicles
directly, which saves money and more efficient, considering there's the roundabout at the entrance, which is easy to monitor all
car flows.
Additionally, the party that's proposing the installation is the gate and fencing company itself. And since it's a profit maximizing
company, obviously they want to make money out of this, even the ultimate result might not benefit the residents as much.
Especially if the funding is going come from the HOA, it probably means there will be further increase in HOA dues that will be
passed on to us residents. We just do not think the gate installation is a promising proposal.
Best,
Kevin
On Mon, May 12, 2014 at 10:55 AM, <EPenarandaksanleandro.org> wrote:
Hi Kevin —
Please inquire with the Heron Bay Homeowners Association.
