City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: September 15, 2014 <br />Presentation <br />File Number: 14-367 Agenda Section: PRESENTATIONS <br />Agenda Number: 3.A. <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: Not Applicable <br />TITLE: Presentation by Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) of the 1-880 <br />Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) North Alameda Segment Project <br />SUMMARY <br />This report is for information only and is prepared ahead of a presentation by MTC staff <br />before the City Council at its September 15 meeting. <br />In March 2011, MTC, in partnership with 1-880 corridor's stakeholders, including Caltrans <br />District 4, the Alameda County Transportation Commission and the Santa Clara Valley <br />Transportation Authority, embarked upon an 1-880 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) <br />Project. As part of this effort, the project team identified a coordinated freeway and arterial <br />incident management strategy for deployment within the northern segment of the 1-880 <br />Corridor. <br />The 1-880 ICM North Alameda Segment Project is a collaborative effort by MTC, in <br />partnership with the Caltrans District 4, the Alameda County Transportation Commission <br />(ACTC), City of San Leandro, City of Oakland and Alameda -Contra Costa Transit District (AC <br />Transit) to develop an enhanced arterial incident management strategy for the 1-880 Corridor. <br />At the City Council meeting, MTC staff will provide the project description, need and purpose, <br />benefits to the City of San Leandro and the project schedule, as part of its presentation. MTC <br />staff will also provide this information to residents during the Open House portion of the <br />Transportation Town Hall Forum on September 22, 2014 at the San Leandro Main Library <br />from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br />ATTACHMENT <br />Memorandum from MTC to City Council <br />PREPARED BY: Reh-Lin N.
