City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: November 3, 2014 <br />Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 14-434 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION Awarding a Construction Contract to AJW Construction for the <br />Annual Sidewalk Repair Program 2014-15, Project No. 2015.0060 (awards the <br />contract to the lowest responsible bidder, AJW Construction, in the amount of <br />$374,805.00 using Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Funds, Measure B <br />Streets and Roads Funds, TDA Grant Funds, and CDBG Funds) <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro did, on October 8, 2014, publicly open, examine and <br />declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the work described in the contract documents; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, said proposals were submitted to the Engineering and Transportation Director <br />who has found that the proposal hereinafter mentioned is the lowest responsive bid for doing <br />said work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except that herein <br />mentioned; hereby waives any irregularities in the proposal or bid of the lowest responsible <br />bidder; and hereby awards the contract for doing said work to the lowest responsible bidder <br />therefore, to wit AJW Construction, at the prices named in its bid on file in the Office of the <br />City Clerk. <br />That said City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to make any necessary <br />amendments, extensions, or change orders to the awarded contract up to funds available in <br />the project, such that staff is provided advance authorization to exceed the 25% change order <br />limitation for this project but total project cost will not exceed $554,463 unless approved by <br />City Council. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 1012812014 <br />
