Section 3-14-325. Prohibition on Use of D;IutkK VVator&Dilution as a Substitute for <br />Treatment. <br />No User shall ever increase the use of process water or, in any other way, <br />attempt to dilute a discharge as a partial or complete substitute for adequate treatment <br />to achieve compliance with all the limitations contained in the Federal Categorical <br />Pretreatment Standards (see Section 3-14-365 of this Chapter), or in -any other <br />limitation developed by the City,, o -r -State, or USEPA. <br />Section 3-14-330. Prohibitions on Radioactive Wastes. <br />No User shall, and it shall be unlawful to, discharge, cause to be discharged, or <br />permit to be discharged, any radioactive waste into the sanitary sewer, provided, <br />however, that: <br />(a) Users authorized to use radioactive materials by the State Department of <br />Health or other governmental agency empowered to regulate the use of radioactive <br />materials may discharge, cause to be discharged, or permit to be discharged such <br />wastes, provided that such wastes are discharged in strict conformance with the then <br />current State of California Code of Regulations, Title 17, any federal laws and <br />regulations pertaining to radioactive materials, and any recommendations for safe <br />disposal of such wastes as they now exist or may hereafter be amended; and <br />(b) The User so acting does so in compliance with all applicable rules and <br />regulations of all other regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over such discharges. <br />Section 3-14-335. Limitations on Point of Discharge. <br />No User shall discharge any substance directly into a manhole or other opening <br />in a GOMMunity the City sanitary sewer system other than through an approved <br />building sewer, unless approved by the Control Authority <br />the User and payment of the appliGable User Gharges a-nd fees, the City issues a permit <br />fGr S Gh d'SGharges <br />Section 3-14-340. Limitations on Use of Garbage Grinders. <br />Waste from garbage grinders shall not be discharged into the sanitary sewer <br />except where: <br />(a) Wastes are generated in preparation of food nermally consumed in a <br />residence for household use; or <br />(b) The User has an existing garbage grinder that predates the original <br />adoption of this section and has approval for that specific use from the City. Such <br />grinders must be repaired or replaced as necessary in order to at all times ensure that <br />16 <br />
