This also includes policy topics such <br /> as measures or budget actions which could potentially impact the <br /> operations of, or services provided by, the City of San Leandro. The City <br /> opposes unfunded mandates from the State. <br /> • Technology <br /> o This includes policy topics such as efforts to broaden the definition of <br /> infrastructure to include fiber/broadband, efforts to support the local <br /> technology efforts in San Leandro and the region, and other similar <br /> topics. <br /> 3. Funding Opportunities and Requests <br /> Continue proactive efforts to immediately notify the City of San Leandro as various funding <br /> opportunities are announced. As new funding opportunities arise, the City's state-level advocates <br /> will consult with City officials and staff in the development of the optimal strategy to maximize <br /> funding for the City. <br /> • Public Safety <br /> Support for 911 call centers, public safety answering points (PSAPs), prevention and <br /> intervention with youth, POST funding mandates, Realignment funds, as well as efforts <br /> to support: stolen vehicle enforcement, illegal dumping prevention, alternative funding <br /> opportunities to address mental illness and related counseling services, juvenile justice <br /> programs, prevention of the sexual exploitation of minors, technology enhancements, <br /> crisis intervention and suicide prevention, and various other public safety programs. <br /> • Transportation/Economic Development/Infrastructure <br /> Support for street signs, curb paintings, dredging of the San Leandro Marina, traffic light <br /> synchronization, improvements at Casa Peralta, support for water recycling, storm <br /> drains and related infrastructure, new source of funding for transportation, and other <br /> efforts to support regional transportation funding programs. <br /> • Housing and Land Use <br /> City of City of San Leandro 2015 State Legislative Platform and Policy Guidelines Page 4 of 5 <br />
