$AN City of San Leandro <br /> Meeting Date: December 15, 2014 <br /> Staff Report <br /> File Number: 14-482 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Agenda Number: 8.F. <br /> TO: City Council <br /> FROM: Chris Zapata <br /> City Manager <br /> BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br /> Engineering & Transportation Director <br /> FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br /> Finance Director <br /> TITLE: Staff Report for a Resolution Accepting the Work for the City Hall South End <br /> Roof Replacement Project, Project No. 2013.0300 <br /> SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council accept the work by State Roofing Systems on Project <br /> No. 2013.0300, and direct staff to file the Notice of Completion, release the performance and <br /> payment bonds, and release the maintenance bond upon completion of the one year <br /> maintenance period. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In 2006, a roof survey was conducted by Skyline Engineering to evaluate the condition of all <br /> roofs on City-owned buildings. The survey included an assessment of roof condition and a <br /> budget estimate for repair/replacement. The portion of the City Hall roof over the Finance <br /> Department and Environmental Services offices was found to be in poor condition and <br /> replacement was recommended. <br /> This project removed the roof over the south end of City Hall and installed a new single ply <br /> roofing system. <br /> Analysis <br /> The Contractor installed the above described improvements. Work was performed in <br /> compliance with the contract documents and is now complete. <br /> The Contractor provided a 5-year warranty and the roofing manufacturer provided a 20-year <br /> warranty. <br /> Previous Actions <br /> City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 12/9/2014 <br />
