City Council Draft Minutes January 5, 2015 <br />Council and stated he looked forward to continuing the positive working relationship <br />between the City and Parks District. <br />Mia Ousley commented on the request for a public nuisance ordinance that she <br />made in 2013 on behalf of the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association. Ms. Ousley <br />requested an update from the City in time for the BNA's general membership meeting <br />in March. <br />Damian Starling, member of ILWU Local 6, expressed appreciation to the City <br />Council for adopting the Living Wage Ordinance, and commented on the need for <br />affordable health care, sick leave and paid vacation for recycling workers at ACI. <br />Delfina Casillas, member of ILWU Local 6, commented through interpreter Augustin <br />Ramirez that the job of a recycling worker for ACI is hard, dirty and dangerous work. <br />Ms. Casillas thanked the City Council and A CI for implementing the Living Wage <br />Ordinance, commenting that local businesses will also benefit from the dollars spent <br />by the workers. <br />Agustin Ramirez, representing ILWU Local 6, thanked the City Council and ACI for <br />implementing the Living Wage Ordinance. Mr. Ramirez commented that the wages <br />of recycling workers in San Leandro, Alameda and Livermore are still below that of <br />workers from other nearby cities. <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />None. <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Item 8.D. was removed from Consent Calendar to Item 9, Items Removed from <br />Consent Calendar. <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Approval of the Consent Calendar <br />A motion was made by Vice Mayor Lee, seconded by Councilmember Prola, to <br />approve the Consent Calendar.
