PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 4.A. 15-001 Staff Report for Adoption of the 2015-2023 City of San Leandro <br /> General Plan Housing Element <br /> The hearing was opened to the public. <br /> • <br /> There being no public comments, and without objection, the Public Hearing was <br /> closed. <br /> Councilmember Lopez and Vice Mayor Prola stated they would vote against the <br /> approval of the two resolutions, as they did not support the City's encouragement of <br /> charter and private schools. <br /> 15-002 RESOLUTION Adopting a Negative Declaration for the 2015-2023 <br /> Housing Element Update of the San Leandro General Plan in <br /> Compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br /> A motion was made by Councilmember Cox,seconded by Councilmember <br /> Reed,that this resolution be adopted.The motion carried by the following vote. <br /> Aye: 4- Cox, Lee, Reed,Thomas <br /> Nay: 2- Lopez, Prola <br /> Enactment No: Reso 2015-006 <br /> 15-003 RESOLUTION Approving the 2015-2023 Housing Element Update of <br /> the San Leandro General Plan to Comply with the State Mandated <br /> Deadline of January 31, 2015 <br /> A motion was made by Councilmember Cox,seconded by Councilmember <br /> Reed,that this resolution be adopted.The motion carried by the following vote. <br /> Aye: 4- Cox, Lee, Reed,Thomas <br /> Nay: 2- Lopez, Prola <br /> Enactment No: Reso 2015-007 <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Rob Rich commented regarding the 2014 murder of his young neighbor, Joel <br /> Ramirez, and the ongoing police investigation. Mr. Rich urged the City Council to <br /> support the San Leandro Police Department's upcoming request for a reward for <br /> information leading to the arrest of those responsible for Joel Ramirez's murder. <br /> City of San Leandro Page 2 <br />
