City of City of San Leandro 2015 State Legislative Platform and Policy Guidelines Page 5 of 5 <br /> <br />Support for new sources of affordable housing funds, transit orient developments such <br />as the Bay Fair Mall BART Station, and other such programs. <br /> Quality of Life <br />Support for projects such as the San Leandro Creek project, bilingual study time at the <br />main branch library, kindergarten readiness programs at the library, project literacy for <br />adults/adult education, support for veterans, homework/technology center, additional <br />library capital improvement needs, health and wellness programs, after school sports, <br />funds to help address homelessness and mental illness, funding for oil recycling, park <br />playground equipment, upgrades at Chabot Park, Washington Manor Park, other city <br />parks, and other such programs. <br /> Local Government <br />Support for projects or budget opportunities that could successfully assist the <br />operations of, or services provided by, the City of San Leandro. <br /> Technology <br />Support for projects such as broadband/high speed capacity for residents and schools, <br />additional license plate readers when authorized by the City Council, energy efficiency <br />projects like LED street lights and residential retrofits, and other such programs. <br />Process for Reporting <br />In addition to regular progress reports sent to the City, annual reports on these and other efforts to <br />support the City’s legislative agenda shall be provided to the City Council. <br /> <br />
