CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> AGREEMENT FOR EMPLOYMENT OF CITY MANAGER <br /> This Employment Agreement ("Agreement") is dated for reference purposes only this <br /> 17th day of February, 2015, by the City of San Leandro ("City"), a charter city formed under the <br /> laws of the State of California, and Chris Zapata ("Manager"). <br /> RECITALS <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to continue to employ, as an "at will" employee,Mr. Chris <br /> Zapata, as City Manager for the City of San Leandro in accordance with applicable provisions of <br /> the City of San Leandro Charter, the City of San Leandro Municipal Code, and the terms of this <br /> Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, Manager desires to be employed as the at-will City Manager for the City in <br /> accordance with applicable provisions of the City Charter, the Municipal Code, and the terms of <br /> this Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS,it is the desire of the City Council to provide certain compensation and <br /> benefits, and establish certain conditions of employment for the position of City Manager <br /> through this Agreement. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,in consideration of the mutual covenants herein contained, the <br /> parties agree as follows: <br /> TERMS <br /> 1. Appointment of City Manager <br /> Pursuant to an agreement executed January 17, 2012,Mr. Zapata's appointment to the <br /> position of City Manager for the City of San Leandro went into effect January 30, 2012. On <br /> January 20, 2015, the City Council approved an extension to the term of the agreement to July <br /> 30, 2015. On February 17, 2015, the City Council approved a new Agreement for Employment <br /> of City Manager, to be effective January 30, 2015. By execution of this Agreement, Manager <br /> accepts such appointment under the terms and conditions provided herein. <br /> 2. Term of Agreement <br /> This Agreement is effective January 30, 2015. This Agreement will expire on January 30, <br /> 2020,unless extended or terminated as provided herein. The parties to this Agreement may <br /> terminate this Agreement pursuant to the provisions of Section 6. <br /> 1 <br />
