IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2015-066 RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH PELTON PLAZA OWNERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,974 FOR A BROADBAND EXPANSION AGREEMENT; APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH SMARTWAVE TECHNOLOGIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,416 FOR THE WIRELESS NETWORK SYSTEM; AND APPROPRIATING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $68,390 FROM THE GENERAL FUND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY RESERVES FOR A BROADBAND EXPANSION TO THE PROPERTY AT PELTON PLAZA AND INSTALLATION OF A FREE, PUBLIC WIRELESS NETWORK IN DOWNTOWN SAN LEANDRO WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and SmartWAVE Technologies, a copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Pelton Plaza owners, a copy of which is attached,has been presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS,the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS,the City Manager recommends approval of said agreements; and WHEREAS,the City Manager also recommends that General Fund economic uncertainty reserves should be used for the design and installation of a Free,Public Wireless Network in Downtown San Leandro. NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said agreements with SmartWAVE Technologies in the amount of$30,416.00 and Pelton Plaza in the amount of$37,974.00 are hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and That an appropriation of funds in the total amount of$68,390.00 from General Fund economic uncertainty reserves to the Business Development Budget(Account 010-41-003) for $37,974.00 and to the IT Operating Budget (Account 688-13-121) for$30,416.00 is hereby authorized,to cover the costs of design and installation of a Free, Public Wireless Network in Downtown San Leandro. *****
