March 16, 2015City Council Draft Minutes <br />Enactment No: Reso 2015-062 <br />2.C.15-158 Commendation Recognizing San Leandro High School Academy of <br />Business and Finance Teacher and Students who were Winners of <br />the World Series of Innovation National Entrepreneur Contest, and <br />Presentations by the Winning Teams <br />2.D.15-125 Recognition of City Clerk Marian Handa for Her Years of Service <br />PRESENTATIONS3. <br />3.A.15-095 Presentation of a $10,000 Check from the San Leandro Optimist Club <br />to the City to Support Youth and Family Activities <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS4. <br />4.A.15-130 Staff Report for the City of San Leandro U.S. Department of Housing <br />and Urban Development (HUD) Draft FY 2015-2019 Five-Year <br />Consolidated Plan and Draft FY 2015-2016 Annual Action Plan <br />The Hearing was opened to the public. <br />Comments were made by the following individual: Robert Fox. <br />There being no further public comments, and without objection, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. <br />15-131 MOTION Directing Staff to Hold a Public Hearing, Publish the Draft FY <br />2015-2019 Five-Year Consolidated Plan and the Draft FY 2015-2016 <br />Annual Action Plan for a 30-Day Comment Period (March 20 - April <br />20, 2015), and Set a Public Hearing for April 20, 2015 to Consider <br />Final Approval of the FY 2015-2019 Five-Year Consolidated Plan and <br />the FY 2015-2016 Annual Action Plan <br />A motion was made by Vice Mayor Prola, seconded by Councilmember Lopez, <br />that this minute order be adopted. The motion carried by the following vote. <br />Aye:Cox, Cutter, Lee, Lopez, Prola, Reed, Thomas7 - <br />Enactment No: Min Order 2015-017 <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS5. <br />Liz Varela and Rose Johnson expressed appreciation to the City Council for its <br />support for social services, and invited the Council to talk to them about their <br />agencies' services and programs. <br />James Aguilar commented regarding the lack of leadership positions and <br />opportunities for youth to become more involved with the City and the City Council. <br />Randy Waage commented on the need to expand Lit San Leandro into San Lorenzo. <br />Page 2City of San Leandro Printed on 3/25/2015
