IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015-139 <br /> RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE $67,954 IN ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO COVER <br /> INCREASED PRINTING AND STAFFING COSTS FOR THE 2014 GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br /> ELECTION FROM THE GENERAL FUND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY RESERVE FUND <br /> BALANCE <br /> WHEREAS, during the 2014 General Municipal Election the Registrar of Voters added <br /> four new languages (Hindi, Korean, Japanese and Khmer)to the original five (English, Spanish, <br /> Chinese,Vietnamese and Tagalog); and <br /> WHEREAS, due to the additional languages both staffing and printing costs increased for <br /> the 2014 election; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of San Leandro placed two measures on the ballot for the <br /> November 2014 Election, Measure II and Measure HH; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure HH was more complex in nature and required seven pages in the <br /> ballot book, which necessarily increased translation and printing costs; and <br /> WHEREAS,the increased printing and translation staff costs were unforeseen and caused <br /> San Leandro's budget for the 2014 election to increase beyond the budged amount, prompting <br /> the City Manager to request additional funds to cover the increased costs. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council for the City of San Leandro hereby RESOLVES <br /> as follows: <br /> That the City Council approve appropriation of additional funding from the General Fund <br /> Economic Uncertainty Reserve Fund Balance,to Elections Account# 010-11-031-5890 in the <br /> amount of$67,954 to cover the increased election costs for the 2014 General Municipal Election. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Reed and passed and adopted this 20th day of July, 2015, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cox, Lee, Lopez, Prola, Reed, Thomas; Mayor Cutter (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: Non (0) <br /> ATTEST: A <br /> Tamika Greenwood, City Clerk <br />
