1 t <br /> IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015-103 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF A PORTION OF HAYS STREET <br /> BETWEEN EAST 14TH STREET AND DAVIS STREET TO "DAN NIEMI WAY" IN <br /> HONOR OF OFFICER KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY <br /> WHEREAS, Officer Dan Niemi was a member of the San Leandro Police Department <br /> who honorably served the San Leandro community following his earning the title of Police <br /> Officer in 2002; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 25, 2005, Officer Niemi was fatally wounded while serving in the <br /> line of duty; and <br /> WHEREAS, in honor of the upcoming 10-year anniversary of his death, and as a means <br /> of paying tribute to his sacrifice to the community, the City Council desires to rename that <br /> section of Hays Street between East 14th Street and Davis Street to "Dan Niemi Way"; and <br /> WHEREAS,this proposal complies with subsections (a), (b)(2), (c), and(d) set forth in <br /> Section 1.10.110 of the San Leandro.Administrative Code. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the San Leandro City Council hereby <br /> authorizes the renaming of the above-designated portion of Hays Street to "Dan Niemi Way;" <br /> and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to submit this street name <br /> change to the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder's Office for official recordation. <br /> Introduced by Mayor Cutter and passed and adopted this 15th day of June, 2015,by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cox, Lee, Lopez,Prola, Reed, Thomas;Mayor Cutter (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: None (0) <br /> ATTEST: <br /> � ���`-Kj�`- -� I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of <br /> Tamika Greenwood, City Clerk Resolution No. 2015-103 adopted this 15th day of June, <br /> 2015, by the ity Council o the City of San Leandro. <br /> Tamika Greenwood <br /> City Clerk of the City of San Leandro <br />
