File Number: 15-479 <br />West Juana Pedestrian Improvements 2015-102 McGuire and Hester <br />APS Upgrade 2012 2015-108 Ray’s Electric <br />Washington Ave at Monterey Blvd/2015-109 Columbia Electric, Inc. <br />Bradrick Dr Traffic Signal Modification <br />Annual Overlay/Rehabilitation 2014-15 2015-110 Gallagher and Burk <br />San Leandro Blvd Rehabilitation 2015-144 DeSilva Gates <br />(Williams Street to Hudson Lane) <br />WHEREAS, change orders to clarify the work or respond to atypical existing conditions <br />are a normal aspect of public contracting and construction; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on <br />budget, provide that subcontractors and workers are paid in a timely fashion, avoid as much <br />as possible costly delay claims, and insure that the City completes projects and products that <br />are to the City’s highest standards, the City Council finds that providing such authorization is <br />in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual <br />change orders for each contract listed above up to a maximum of 10% of the original contract <br />amount; and <br />That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve <br />cumulative change orders for each contract listed above up to a maximum of 25% of the <br />original contract amount. <br />Page 2 City of San Leandro Printed on 9/2/2015
