Environmental Plan <br />► RECYCLING & WASTE REDUCTION <br />• Use supplies made from recycled materials in every department; <br />• Incorporate building and furnishing materials made of post -consumer content; <br />• Purchase re -usable supplies; e.g., refillable inks and white boards; <br />• Repurpose materials, supplies and furnishings; <br />• Reuse paper (front and back) before recycling; <br />• Make use of refurbished products and electronics, and recycle ink and toner cartridges; <br />• Use color -coded trash, recycling and compost bins to sort recyclables and compost. <br />Supply -Side Purchasing Initiatives <br />We will positively influence the environmental impact of our entire supply chain by obtaining medicine <br />from members committed to environmental stewardship. <br />► SELECTING MEDICAL CANNABIS SUPPLIERS <br />Without impacting the consistency and affordability of the high-quality medicine that HSL <br />will offer, we will preference suppliers who: <br />• Cultivate cannabis using fully organic methods; <br />• Manufacture cannabis products using organically cultivated cannabis; <br />• Minimize water usage utilizing grey water recapture and recycling <br />systems, reduce energy consumption through energy-efficient HVAC <br />and lighting systems, or cultivate SunGrown cannabis without artificial light; <br />• Maintain Clean Green (CG) certification. <br />HSL's comprehensive approach to sustainability throughout the supply chain will include: <br />• Paperless electronic invoicing and communication with contractors and vendors; <br />Optimizing timing, composition and volume of deliveries using historical inventory demand <br />trends, to reduce the impact of delivery vehicles on our environment; <br />• Educating patient base about the advantages of eco -friendly sun -grown medicine. <br />► SELECTING CONTRACTORS <br />We will select contractors and vendors who incorporate environmentally friendly methods <br />in their everyday business. Companies who perform work for HSL will be expected to: <br />• Use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and proper waste disposal practices; <br />• Source supplies from vendors who provide service and products sustainably; <br />• Travel or deliver products using low -impact means of transportation; <br />• Demonstrate a commitment to sustainability in their respective industries through <br />participation in industry -specific environmental stewardship programs. <br />Application to Operate a Medical Cannabis Dispensary.
