IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015-178 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $170,000 FROM ASSET <br /> SEIZURE FUND BALANCE TO THE FEDERAL AND STATE ASSET SEIZURE FUND <br /> OPERATING EXPENDITURES BUDGET FOR 2015-16 <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department has multiple projects that require funding from the <br /> Asset Seizure Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Asset Seizure Fund account is a special reserve account to fund police- <br /> specific needs, like equipment, supplies, or services that comply with Department of Justice <br /> Guidelines; and <br /> WHEREAS,this appropriation of funds will supply police officers with the replacement <br /> of equipment, supplies, and services necessary for doing business that are not currently budgeted <br /> in the General Fund. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE to <br /> appropriate $170,000 of Federal and State Asset Seizure funds as follows: <br /> 1. $80,000 replacement bullet proof vest purchase for the SWAT team -Account <br /> 146-21-014; <br /> 2. $25,000 rifles and related equipment -Account 146-21-014; <br /> 3. $15,000 police equipment or unanticipated consulting service needs -Account <br /> 146-21-014; <br /> 4. $10,000 police supplies and community outreach materials -Account 146-21-017; <br /> and <br /> 5. $40,000 replacement/upgrade of furniture and equipment for field and office <br /> employees - Account 146-21-017. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Reed and passed and adopted this 19th day of October, <br /> 2015,by the following vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cox, Lee, Lopez, Prola, Reed, Thomas; Mayor Cutter (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: None (0) <br /> ATTEST: 4 <br /> Tamika Greenwood, City Clerk <br />
