If vehicle washing will be performed onsite, commercial/industrial facilities having <br /> vehicle/equipment cleaning needs shall either provide a roofed, bermed area for washing <br /> activities or discourage vehicle/equipment washing by removing hose bibs (faucets) and <br /> installing signs prohibiting such uses. If vehicle washing will be performed onsite. <br /> vehicle/equipment washing areas shall be paved, designed to prevent run-on to or runoff <br /> from the area, and plumbed to drain to the sanitary sewer. A sign shall be posted indicating <br /> the location and allowed uses in the designated wash area. <br /> R. Vehicle/Equipment repair and maintenance shall be performed in a designated area indoors, <br /> or if such services are performed outdoors (under the covered area), in an area designated to <br /> prevent the run-on and runoff of stormwater. <br /> S. Outdoor vehicle services with potential to generate small particles, such as metal filings. <br /> brake dust,liquid spill, such as oil change,radiator work shall be performed under cover. <br /> T. Secondary containment shall be provided for exterior work areas (under the covered area) <br /> where motor oil, brake fluid, gasoline, diesel fuel, radiator fluid, acid-containing batteries or <br /> other hazardous materials or hazardous wastes are used or stored. Drains shall not be <br /> installed within the secondary containment areas. <br /> U. Vehicle service facilities shall not have floor drains. <br /> V. Tanks, containers or sinks used for parts cleaning and rinsing shall not be connected to the <br /> storm drain system. Tanks, containers or sinks used for such purposed may only be <br /> connected to the sanitary sewer system if allowed by an industrial waste discharge permit. <br /> The applicant shall contact City of San Leandro Wastewater Pollution. Control Plant for <br /> specific connection and discharge requirements. <br /> W. Inspect all vehicles left on site for drips and place drip pans under leaking vehicles. Drain <br /> fluids from all leaking or wrecked vehicle immediately,prior to storage. <br /> VII. FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. The plans are required to meet the adopted codes and standards at the time of submittal. <br /> B. The plans will need to meet the fire department access requirements. The following is to be <br /> shown on the plans submitted for approval: A site plan drawn to a scale of 1=20', 30' or 40'. <br /> The fire department access is to be a 20-foot wide all weather surface capable of supporting <br /> 75,000 pounds. On the plans clearly show the fire department access through the site. Include <br /> the turning radius at all changes of direction of the access road. When the gates are in the <br /> open position the clear unobstructed width shall be 20 feet. <br /> C. Fire department key boxes or gate switches are required on the gates across the fire <br /> department access. <br /> D. A fire department key box for the office is required. <br /> E.
