City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 1, 2016 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-042 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.G. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Lianne Marshall <br />Assistant City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for Resolution Adopting the Assistant City Manager and Police <br />Chief Salary Schedules <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution to adopt the salary schedules for <br />the Assistant City Manager and Police Chief. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016, the Assistant City Manager and Police Chief received <br />salary increases in accordance with the terms of their respective employment agreements. <br />In accordance with California Code of Regulations Section 570.5, a salary schedule is <br />required in a format that identifies the position title, the pay rate, the effective date, the range, <br />and be duly approved and adopted by the employer’s governing body. Approval of the salary <br />schedules will comply with CalPERS’ requirement for publicly available pay schedules. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The 2015-16 General Fund adopted budget will be adjusted to reflect increases in the <br />Assistant City Manager and Police Chief’s salary and benefits of approximately $25,000 total. <br />.
