File Number: 16-005 <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 1, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />BY: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION Declaring as Surplus Twenty -One (21) Vehicles and Three(3) <br />Pieces of Equipment and Authorizing the Sale Thereof at Public Auction <br />(approves the public auction for the surplus of said vehicles and equipment). <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-500 of the San Leandro Municipal Code authorizes the City's <br />Purchasing Agent to sell equipment which has become unsuitable or unnecessary for the City <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, twenty-one (21) vehicles have been identified as no longer useful to the <br />City operations and therefore should be declared surplus and sold at auction; and <br />WHEREAS, three (3) pieces of equipment have been identified as no longer useful to <br />the City operations and therefore should be declared surplus and sold at auction; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts have <br />expressed no interest in obtaining any of the vehicles. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />Following public notice as may be required by law and in accordance with Section <br />1-6-500 of the San Leandro Municipal Code the declaration of surplus and authorization of the <br />sale of twenty-one (21) vehicles and three (3) pieces of equipment at public auction by First <br />Capitol Auctions in Vallejo, CA is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 19-20, 2016. <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 1126/2016 <br />
