City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 16, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-080 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:City Council <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the <br />Consulting Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs for State <br />Legislative Advocacy Services, to Extend the Term of the Agreement by an <br />Additional One Year Period at the Same Rate, in an Amount Not to Exceed <br />$60,000 Annually <br />WHEREAS on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to <br />enter into a one-year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend <br />Public Affairs, for the provision of state level advocacy services; and <br />WHEREAS on February 17, 2015, the City Council directed the City Manager to extend <br />that agreement for an additional year of services at the same rate; and <br />WHEREAS, for the past year, Townsend Public Affairs provided the City Council with <br />excellent services representing the City of San Leandro’s interests in the state capitol; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with <br />Townsend Public Affairs for an additional year of services at the same rate; and <br />WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby <br />authorized. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 2/10/2016
