The work was inspected and deemed to comply with the contract <br />documents and City standards. <br />Previous Actions <br />·On July 7, 2014 by Resolution No. 2014-068, the City Council awarded a contract for <br />construction of the work to Flatiron Electric Group, Inc. <br />·On June 15, 2015 by Resolution No. 2015-107, the City Council increased the construction <br />contract change order cap from 25% to 40%. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />A Caltrans Encroachment permit was issued for the segment of work within the State right of <br />way. <br />Union Pacific Railroad issued Wireline Crossing Agreements for the locations where the <br />project crossed railroad right of way. <br />Environmental Review <br />The project was determined categorically exempt pursuant to subsection 15304(f), ‘Minor <br />Alteration to Land’ of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />A summary of the construction contract with Flatiron Electric Group, Inc., is below: <br />Original Contract $1,325,350.00 <br />Change Orders $ 418,798.11 <br />Total Contract Amount $1,744,148.11 <br />The contractor submitted a claim in the amount of $113,000.00 for work they believe is an <br />extra to the contract.
