City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: April 18, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-146 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Appropriating $60,000 of Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian <br />Funds for the West Juana Pedestrian Improvements Project, Project No. <br />2014.0500 (appropriates $60,000 from the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian <br />Fund for the completion of the project) <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro did on June 1, 2015 award a <br />construction contract to McGuire and Hester for the West Juana Pedestrian Improvements <br />Project, Project No. 2014.0500 with the adoption of Resolution No. 2015-102; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro did on September 8, 2015, <br />authorize an increase in the Contract Change Order Cap of 25% for the construction contract <br />with McGuire and Hester and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro did on June 17, 2013, <br />authorize the City Manager to execute a Grant Funding Agreement for Measure B Funding, <br />committing the City to spend the necessary matching funds and to provide assurance to the <br />grantor that the City would complete the West Juana Pedestrian Improvements Project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That an additional $60,000 of Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Fund is hereby <br />appropriated to pay for work deemed necessary to address unknown physical conditions <br />related to greater than normal asphalt thicknesses that required additional work and off-haul; <br />and unforeseen conditions involving abandoned and unabandoned utilities that necessitated <br />increased safety measures to protect life and property; and to expedite the completion of the <br />subject project. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 4/11/2016
