City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: May 2, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-204 PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Cynthia Battenberg <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving the City of San Leandro U.S. Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Final FY 2016-2017 Annual Action <br />Plan (implements the Housing and Community Development Strategies of the <br />FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan and authorizes the execution of all related <br />documents by the City Manager and submission of the Action Plan to HUD) <br />WHEREAS, through provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act and <br />the National Affordable Housing Act (the “Acts”), the federal government has made block <br />grant funding available to local communities for housing and community development <br />activities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro adopted, by Resolution No. 2015-0080 on April <br />20, 2015, the FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan to implement the goals identified in the Acts; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, an Annual Action Plan (referred to hereinafter as “the Plan”) has been <br />prepared reflecting the activities that the City proposes to fund and implement during FY <br />2016-2017, a copy of which is attached hereto; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has held two public hearings, solicited public <br />comment for thirty days by publishing a summary of the Plans in the newspaper and by <br />providing the Plan at City Hall, in the City Clerk’s office and the Community Development <br />Department, in the Main Library, and on the City's website; and <br />WHEREAS, all public comments received, if any, were considered in the contents of <br />the Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends execution and submission of said Action <br />Plan with Certifications as attached. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 4/26/2016
