The revised ordinance
would effectively ban single-use bags at all retail stores and restaurants. StopWaste is
presenting the proposed ordinance expansion to member agencies for consideration by the
ACWMA board in the fall.
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss the Reusable Bag Ordinance expansion
proposed by StopWaste, and provide direction to Councilmember Cox regarding San
Leandro’s vote at the ACWMA board meeting in the fall.
ATTACHMENTS
·Reusable Bag Ordinance Presentation Final
·FAQ synopsis
·ACWMA Reusable Bag Ordinance with Draft Amendments
PREPARED BY: Jennifer Auletta, Deputy Public Works Director, Public Works Department
Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 6/1/2016
