City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 18, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-386 ACTION ITEMS <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Appropriating $65,000 for the City Manager or his designee to <br />conduct public outreach and share unbiased, factual information related to <br />revenue measures that may be appearing on the November 2016 ballot <br />(approves $65,000 in General Fund appropriations from the economic <br />uncertainty reserves to account number 010-12-020-5120) <br /> <br />…..Body <br />WHEREAS, on July 18, 2016 the San Leandro City Council adopted <br />resolutions authorizing ordinances that will ask San Leandro voters to <br />authorize various new revenue measures as part of the November 2016 <br />election ballot; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to help ensure that San Leandro voters are aware of <br />these revenue measures and understand the factual components related <br />thereto, the City Council is considering whether to direct the City Manager to <br />conduct public outreach efforts in advance of the election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this work could consist of the production of a mailer(s), written or <br />electronic publications, or various other communications (including the cost of <br />postage) containing factual, non-partisan, unbiased information that may be <br />distributed or shared with San Leandro residents or posted on the City’s <br />website, at a cost not to exceed $65,000. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That $65,000 is hereby appropriated from the City’s General Fund Economic <br />Uncertainty Reserve to account number 010-12-020-5120 for the purposes <br />described above. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 7/13/2016 <br />584
