City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: September 6, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-441 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Cynthia Battenberg <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the Parking Authority of the City of San Leandro to Approve <br />a Quitclaim Deed that transfers a parking easement on the public parking lot <br />located at the northeast corner of East 14th Street and Callan Avenue (APN <br />077-0447-007-01) from the Parking Authority of the City of San Leandro to the <br />City of San Leandro <br />WHEREAS, the Parking Authority of the City of San Leandro acquires, owns, <br />manages and/or administers real property for public parking purposes within and for the City <br />of San Leandro; and <br />WHEREAS, when the Parking Authority meets, the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro serves as the Board of Directors of the Parking Authority of the City of San Leandro; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro owns the public parking lot located at Callan Ave. <br />and Hyde St., APN 077-0447-007-01 (the “Property”); and <br />WHEREAS, an Agreement, dated December 15, 1969 (and as amended by <br />Amendment to Agreement recorded January 18, 1982), was established between the City of <br />San Leandro, the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, Longs Drug Stores, Conselho San <br />Leandro No. 1 Da Uniao Portugueza Do Estado Da California and Conselho Supremo Da <br />Uniao Portugueza Do Estado Da California for development of such public parking lot on the <br />Property; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section IV.6 of the Agreement, owners of properties within <br />Plaza Assessment District No. 1 were granted a non-exclusive easement for the use of the <br />Property and portions of streets for a period of 50 years for parking and circulation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Plaza Assessment District No. 1 was established in 1968 for the <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 8/29/2016
