<br /> Ordinance , Exhibit D: Amended Article 16 <br />Note: underlined and bolded text represents new text; strike through represents text to be eliminated <br />door storage and display may be permitted, subject to any restrictions and/or limita- <br />tions within project specific conditions attached to a use permit, site plan approved <br />pursuant to Article 2, or zoning approval, in conjunction with the following use classifi- <br />cations in districts where they are permitted or conditionally permitted, and provided <br />outdoor storage and display shall be limited to vehicles or equipment: <br /> <br />1. Vehicle/Heavy Equipment Dealers, New <br />2. Vehicle/Heavy Equipment Dealers, Used <br />3. Vehicle/Heavy Equipment Rentals <br /> <br />E. Vehicles/Equipment as Advertisement. No vehicle or equipment shall be stored with <br />mast arms in an elevated position. (Ord. 2014-011 § 2; Ord. 2008-003 § 8; Ord. 2004- <br />007 § 5; Ord. 2001-015 § 1) <br /> <br />4-1664 Screening of Mechanical Equipment <br /> <br />A. General Requirement. Except as provided in Subsection B below, all exterior me- <br />chanical equipment, except solar collectors in any district and operating mechanical <br />equipment in an IG District located more than five hundred (500) feet from a C, NA, <br />SA, R, PS, PD, or OS district boundary, shall be screened from view on all sides. Ex- <br />cept to the extent restricted by public utility companies, equipment to be screened in- <br />cludes but is not limited to heating, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, plumbing <br />lines, ductwork, and transformers. The Zoning Enforcement Official may waive the <br />screening requirement in C, NA, SA, or I district for equipment not visible from a public <br />street or R district. <br /> <br />B. Utility Meters. Utility meters shall be screened from view from public rights-of-way, but <br />need not be screened on top or when located on the interior side of a single-family <br />dwelling. Meters in a required front yard or in a side yard adjoining a street shall be <br />enclosed in subsurface vaults. <br /> <br />C. Screening Specifications. Screening materials may have evenly distributed openings <br />or perforations averaging fifty percent (50%) of the surface area and shall effectively <br />screen mechanical equipment, so that it is not visible from a street or adjoining lot. <br />(Ord. 2001-015 § 1) <br /> <br />4-1666 Refuse Storage Areas <br /> <br />Except as exempted by the Zoning Enforcement Official, a refuse storage area screened <br />on all sides by a six (6) foot solid wood or masonry wall or located within a building, shall <br />be provided prior to occupancy for all commercial, industrial, and public/semipublic uses. <br />Locations, horizontal dimensions, and general design parameters of refuse storage areas <br />shall be in accord with standards established by the Zoning Enforcement Official, subject <br />to appeal to the Planning Commission.
