City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: October 17, 2016 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-478 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Jeff Tudor <br />Acting Chief of Police <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute All <br />Documents to Effect the Purchase and Outfitting of 11 Police Fleet Vehicles, <br />in an Amount not to Exceed $501,148, Contingent Upon City Council Approval <br />and Adoption of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Budget Adjustments <br />WHEREAS, the City annually replaces police vehicles according to a replacement schedule; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2014-046 that approved a budget <br />adjustment for the Police Department to replace vehicles in its fleet; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2015-075 that approved and authorized <br />the lease of police vehicles as part of the replacement cycle; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2015-173 authorizing Priority 1 to <br />maintain, service, and outfit police vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, staff proposes procuring 11 vehicles to replace portions of its aging fleet using <br />funds from fiscal year 2015-16 and 2016-17; and <br />WHEREAS, staff will include local dealerships in the competitive bid process and the total <br />amount of the purchase will not exceed $501,148. <br />NOW THEREFORE the City Council of the City of San Leandro resolves as follows: <br />1.That the City Manager is authorized to execute a purchase agreement and all other <br />documents necessary to effect the acquisition described herein, and in the associated <br />staff report. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 10/11/2016
