b. Up to two additional thirty (30) day periods may be approved by the <br />Zoning Enforcement official provided such extensions are determined to <br />be reasonably necessary to achieve business identity and are consistent <br />with the purposes of this Code. <br />2. A use permit for a theater or cinema may authorize signs deviating from the <br />standards of this Article, subject to development plan review under the <br />provisions of Article 25. The Site Development Sub -Commission may approve <br />marquee signs, animated signs, changeable copy signs, brighter lights, and <br />other features for cinema or theater signs not otherwise authorized by this <br />Article if such modifications are consistent with the style and character of <br />existing signs on the site and adjacent property, and will not be readily visible <br />from an R district. <br />3. Open house signs advertising real estate open for inspection for prospective <br />sale may be installed on private property in all zoning districts from 10:00 a.m. <br />to 6:00 p.m. with the consent of the person in possession and control of the <br />property. Such signs may state the name of the person or firm sponsoring the <br />open house and may not exceed five (5) square feet each in face area or five <br />(5) in number for any one (1) sale. <br />L. Prohibited Signs. The following signs are prohibited: <br />1. Canvas signs, banners, pennants, streamers, balloons or other temporary or <br />wind signs except as provided in Subsections K.1 or E.B. <br />2. Mobile, A -frame, and portable signs except as provided in Subsection K.3. <br />3. Roof or canopy signs extending to a height more than four (4) feet above the <br />roofline. <br />4. Signs which resemble any official marker erected by the City, State, or any <br />governmental agency, or which, by reason of position, shape, color or <br />illumination would conflict with the proper functioning of any traffic sign or <br />signal or would be a hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. <br />5. Signs which produce odor, sound, smoke, fire, or other such emissions. <br />6. Window or contiguous window panes covered by paper, painted or other signs <br />which exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the total area of that window at any <br />time. <br />7.
