City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: December 19, 2016 <br />Ordinance <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-652 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.J. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Cynthia Battenberg <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:An ORDINANCE Repealing Chapter 3 of Title 3, Uniform Fire Code, and <br />Adopting the 2016 California Fire Code (Based Upon the 2015 International <br />Fire Code), Including Appendix D and Replacing Article 8 of Chapter 7-5 of <br />Title VII of the San Leandro Municipal Code, Regulating and Governing the <br />Safeguarding of Life and Property From Fire and Explosion Hazards Arising <br />From the Storage, Handling and Use of Hazardous Substances, Materials and <br />Devices, and From Conditions Hazardous to Life or Property in the <br />Occupancy of Buildings and Premises in the City of San Leandro; Providing <br />for the Issuance of Permits and Collection of Fees Therefor; Repealing <br />Ordinance No. 2013-018 of the City of San Leandro and All Other Ordinances <br />or Parts of Laws in Conflict Therewith. <br />ARTICLE 8. FIRE CODE <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br />Section 1.Chapter 3 of Title 3 of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby repealed in <br />its entirety and reserved. <br />Section 2.Article 8 of Chapter 7-5 of Title VII of the San Leandro Municipal Code is <br />hereby added to read as follows: <br />Section 1. That a certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City <br />Clerk of the City of San Leandro and two additional copies in fire prevention, being marked <br />and designated as the California Fire Code, 2016 edition, including Sections 101, 103, 104.6, <br />108, 109.4, 112, Appendix Chapter D, as published by the International Code Council, be and <br />is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the City of San Leandro, in the State of California <br />regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 12/13/2016
