City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 21, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:17-065 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:City Council <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the <br />Consulting Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs for State <br />Legislative Advocacy Services, to Extend the Term of the Agreement through <br />June 30, 2018 at the Same Rate, in an Amount Not to Exceed $60,000 <br />Annually <br />WHEREAS on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to <br />enter into a one-year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend <br />Public Affairs, for the provision of state level advocacy services; and <br />WHEREAS on February 17, 2015, and February 16, 2016 the City Council directed the <br />City Manager to extend that agreement for an additional year of services at the same rate; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, for the past year, Townsend Public Affairs provided the City Council with <br />excellent service representing the City of San Leandro’s interests at the State level; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with <br />Townsend Public Affairs through June 30, 2018 at the same rate, in an amount not to exceed <br />$60,000; and <br />WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said amendment to the agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 2/16/2017
